Last night

As those of you who were on last night will know I had problem getting il2 to run. Despite it seemingly working ok before joining silks server when it all went tits up after that. Thanks for the advice Silk even though it didn’t work! This morning I did a windows update and it now works perfectly - ...

Re: GPU or CPU

The GPU load is 100% in the MSI Kombuster test, so presumably the CPU has some grunt left in it. I think it's possible to overclock it even more. Edit: !00% was the first test, in the Furmark test it was only 99% at 2560x1440 and I cannotb get it to test at 3840x2160. Edit: Oh and the existing GPU i...

GPU or CPU

I am speculating on trying to fly the FW campaign in VR. I suppose because I really should try get into VR and the FW cockpit experience really is dramatically different in VR. However the Graphic experience is not good with my existing set up. So do I upgrade the GPU (GTX1060 3GB) or the CPU( i5-35...

Nvidea Control Panel

Hope springs eternal. Fresh from my reinstall necessitated by my Reshade debacle.I came across the fact that Nvidea have a new version of control panel out. Three features caught my eye. First they have incoprperated a version of reshade in their settings -not going there ! Second something called s...

Re: Is my track IR broken?

Solved it!

After uninstalling and re installing several times, I tried loading version 5.4.0. Worked straight away. Been running 5.4.2 for 4 years now, so I dunno what went wrong.

BTW there is no light at the back.

Is my track IR broken?

Well it's certainly not working. The set up screen does not load. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect and I am now wondering if the camera is broken. When I plug it in I seem to remember that it lights up at the back to indicate that it is receiving power, but it doesn't do that any more...

Re: Any throttle recommendations?

I have the T master Throttle which coincidentally I bought to replace a X52 Throttle. It's a value for money piece of kit and it has served me well. Probably the CH products are easier to operate and better laid out and better made though 50% more expensive. What I do miss is the easy to program Sai...

Re: VR hints and tips

I downloaded the MIgoto 17.1 file, I was expecting an executable file which you would install and then have option menus, but it just seems to be a collection of files, presumably to be copied somewhere. I think it is the background shimmering and not being able to glance at the instruments almost u...

Re: VR hints and tips

First off. Is there any way to get the instruments into proper focus? zoom in and they are clear enough, but otherwise even with glasses on they seem blurred and I find this rather distracting.

Second. Is it just me or is spotting seriously more difficult in VR?

Re: Is this a decent graphics card?

Scan do the GTX 1060 3GB for £157 and a GTX 1060 6 GB isn't much more.

Re: VR

Well even without No 1 son I managed to (largely) sort things on Tuesday afternoon. It seems it was a Firmware problem (whatever that is). Had to go down the pub Tuesday evening and was out all day Wednesday and to day I am of to Scotland for a few days. So the fine tuning will have to wait. This al...

Re: VR

Just run the Steam VR evaluator. It says YES!
Average quality 7.2 (High)
Frames below 90 fps - zero
Recommended for high quality VR

I may have to wait until No 1 Son comes home for crimbo to sort me out (well my pc that is)
