Sgt Blackjack arrives at Pitomnik

Post by Tom »

Gentlemen, it is my distinct pleasure to confirm that Sgt. Blackjack today passed A/F1. Take off was good, formation flying was good, spotting contacts was laconic, and landing was indifferent.

As he's a cultured individual I suspect he'd be ideal material for No1 rather than the rif-RAF of 601. His landing however left his aircraft "601 repairable."

He'll be about next week with A/F 2 also taking part next week (Swallow I need A/F2 tout suite!).

I suspect we'll be shortening his name to BJ - no sniggering at the back there!

;;)

Welcome Blackjack, i trust Tom did not charge you for completing A/F 1 as a lawyer he somtimes forgets his time can be free of charge. From what i saw you will have no trouble passing to ops.

Welcome Blackjack. You’ll find Tom is very knowledgeable, apart from which sqn is best between No1 & No601, where his logic is flawed.

Thanks for the welcome

I really enjoyed training, even though I was rear ended by that 109. I'm looking foward to getting through the next 3 A/F's and moving on to ops. Hopefully my landings will improve; that Pic of my last one looks bad because...ahem!.. the undercarriage collapsed when I opened the canopy.

Tiger, I'm afraid that information is above you're security clearance.

Cheers

Welcome Blackjack, Tom always gets confused if someone empties the biscuit tin instead of him, 601 is where you want to be. :D

Problem is he damaged a 109. Sacrilege says I. Still he managed to take off without a restart so he's better than 601 material.

If he can stump up his own hamper of Dom Perignon, then he's ideal for 601. If not, No1...

In any case, welcome BJ!

(And Tom, wasn't it Kalach?)

(Actually, a brief skim of Wikipedia reveals that Kalach is great as a base, in that it was in German hands for three or four months before becoming the crucible of Operation Uranus. <<pause for No.1- originating puns...>>

So it can legitimately be used as a base by both the LW and the VVS! Result! B-)

A hamper? Oh how No601 have fallen on bad times.

A hamper might get him past No1's guard house (aka 601 mess) I suppose but it'd only reflect 601s auxiliary status.

Don't he go on? Have they fired your minion yet? You'll have to make your own tea soon. And before you counter with 'have they fired you yet'? I'm working on it every day $-)
